HOOKAH SETUP INSTRUCTIONS
- First check to see if you have the following: a Stem, Base, Snap On Tray, set of Tongs, Bowl with Bowl Grommets, Hose with Hose Grommets.
- Fill up your Base with water, making sure the bottom of the stem submerges about 1 ½” into the water.
- Using a small amount of water, moisten the Base Grommet.
- Insert your Shaft into the Base clockwise.
- Place the Snap On Tray over the top of the Shaft, and secure it in place.
- Place the Bowl grommet over the top of the Shaft.
- Check to see if you have the following materials available: Flavored Tobacco, Tongs, Metal Bowl Screen/Tin Foil.
- In order to experience a smoother smoke, make sure to break up the Flavored Tobacco.
- Loosely sprinkle Flavored Tobacco into the Bowl, but do not fill it above the top of the Bowl.
- Secure the Metal Bowl Screen on top of the Bowl, or wrap some tin foil around the top of the Bowl (Please make sure that you poke small holes into the Tin Foil if you are not using a Metal Bowl Screen).
- Place the completed Bowl on top of the Shaft, securing it onto the Bowl Grommet.
- Using the Tongs, light a piece of Charcoal and place it on top of the Metal Bowl Screen/Tin Foil.
- In order to get the Hookah going, take a couple puffs.
- Sit back, relax, and enjoy your hookah.
LIST OF HOOKAH ETIQUETTE
- The etiquette of hookah smoking is very important in some cultures and often times it is regarded as disrespectful to break away from these traditions. Etiquette also helps to keep all hookah smokers happy.
- Smoking a hookah pipe is about patience and tolerance, so relax and enjoy it.
- There is no urgency or competitiveness when smoking a narghile, unlike the smoking sessions using other glass pipes or water pipes. So smoke until you are pleased and then pass it on to the next person.
- As a courtesy, turn the hose connection of the metal stem toward the next person as you are handing them the hose.
- Never light cigarettes using the lit charcoal on top of the hose.
- Never light a self-lighting charcoal on top of the hookah- the extra smoke will overwhelm the tobacco flavors.
- Do not blow smoke in the face of another person unless you have their consent.
- With a multi-hose hookah, try to not blow into the hookah hose to clear the smoke while another person is smoking.
- Never share your plastic mouthpiece with another person, as it does not promote good hygiene.
- When you are finished smoking hookah, wrap the hookah hose around the metal stem to let others know you are done.
- Do not smoke anything but tobacco out of your hookah.
- Try to avoid placing your hookah on a height (I know this could be a little inconvenient if you do not have a large hookah, but a hookah is supposed to rest on the ground, not on a table).
HOOKAH TIPS AND TRICKS
- Never smoke off a copper bowl since copper is poisonous when smoked off of.
- Keep your tobacco in the fridge in an airtight container in order to extend its shelf life.
- Add ice to your hookah water. It will cool the smoke and create a much more pleasant experience.
- If you have lots of small holes it will prevent ash from falling into the bowl and contaminating your tobacco.
- The less residue from prior sessions the cleaner the smoke will be. Therefore, in between hookah sessions clean out all the parts, the bowl, the hose, etc.
- Try to mix two flavors to create new flavors.
- Add a small amount of the matching flavor to your hookah water to enhance the taste when smoking flavored tobaccos.
